Disappointing
My white gold wedding ring was resized and after 7 weeks it came back looking grubby and like it was made of scrap metal. I took it to two jewellers to check it was white gold and they said the hallmark said gold but f. Hinds just hadn’t bothered to replate it with rhodium, which is what white gold actually is. I got my engagement ring back from a different jeweller, also white gold, and the two rings don’t match because my engagement ring came back looking brand new and replated. The branch that we got the ring from closed as soon as I got my ring back so I can’t take this issue up with them.
I notice f. Hinds don’t respond to any of the reviews left on trustpilot so they obviously don’t give a toss about their service or reputation.

My wife has bought alot if stud earrings over the years from f hinds and she has lost them all over time as the backings fall out. She hasn't had this with any other stud earrings from another company. Waste of money as its 25pounds here and there

Took watch to High Wycombe branch for…
Took watch to High Wycombe branch for replacement battery. Watch came back damaged with numbers missing from the face.
Returned the watch for repair only to find they'd tried to paint the numbers back on but one number still partly missing.
Against my better judgement I returned the watch a second time for them to rectify but watch returned still damaged.
Asked me to return again and of course I refused.
Don't use this shop!
Damaged strap after battery changed
Took my watch in to have the battery replaced at the Clapham Junction store. On collection, one of the clasps on the metal strap was no longer working. Both a female and male employee I and 2 friends spoke to were very defensive, claiming they don’t touch the strap when changing batteries. Doesn’t explain how my strap malfunctioned, after it had been working perfectly well before. Had to call the store manager a week later, who offered to look at it if I take it in. Not convenient, as don’t go to Clapham often. Not impressed with their attitude and won’t be going back there, or to any F Hinds branch, again.

I never ever write negative reviews however I feel this company is deserving of one. Purchased a white gold engagement ring just after Christmas, collected in January after it was resized. Very shortly after the extremely thin claw snapped off, returned to store, was accused of shearing the claw off myself, however sent off to head office. Ring was replaced, I thought great! I decided to not wear the ring unless on a special occasion as I was terrified of it breaking again. Low and behold, it did break again! Same issue, the claw, it had bent just at the end this time. Took the ring back and it was sent off again, explained I want a refund as this is the second time now. 3 weeks later, I call to chase the ring up to be told it is my fault and I have obviously caught it. I do not wear the ring!!! The lady in the store even commented on how the ring looked brand new and she could tell I do not wear it. Request for a refund has been flat out refused. Chargeback is now being submitted unfortunately. My advice would be to avoid and shop at The Diamond Store instead - much better customer service and quality jewellery!

Really unhelpful
Really unhelpful. I was unsure about a watch because it looked different to the pictures on the website. So I returned it to store.
The store made me feel like I was a nuisance because they didn’t really understand what to do and the manager was busy.
I was then liaising with a member of staff via email regarding a refund and requested to order the watch again as it’s the closest thing I could find to what I’m looking for.
On the 7th June I was told that it would be no problem and that the watch would be sent back to me. Following this I received no courier or reorder information. A week goes by and I’m still waiting so I enquire about it via email with no response. So I call the team who tell me very casually that it’s on its way and will be with me within the next couple of days.
I ordered it for a wedding that I’m going to tomorrow.
Giving 9 days for delivery would surely be enough time?
The wedding is tomorrow and I still haven’t heard anything. It turns out that the watch was dispatched back to a store 45 miles away from me and hasn’t even arrived there yet… VERY POOR SERVICE.
I understand that I returned the watch but this is only because nobody was willing to help me with a couple of weeks leeway on the return period for me to make a decision.
So I had no choice but to return and then repurchase giving me some additional time to work through my options.
I have plenty of time for delivery and because of a massive lack of communication from the staff despite me attempting to reach out I am now without the item that I need for tomorrow.
scraping in some gold
Was looking at scraping in some gold (I am in the jewelry/watch trade, so I know what I'm doing) I had to go into Solihull and since F Hinds say they scrap gold for a good price I thought I'd check them out the offer was £11 per gram for scrap 9ct. This is a joke it was £17.35 per gram if I did not know the price of gold I would have been ripped off I understand company's need a profit but they are taking advantage of people who don't know... And yes I went into the jewelry quarter and got £17.35 I'm sure that company makes a profit!

Don't buy a Seiko or buy from F. Hinds.
I bought a Seiko "solar" watch last October. Since then it has been twice to F. Hinds and is now back at Seiko for the second time. Seiko have it for repair since 12th May and still no result. F. Hinds refuse to refund my payment even though the CRA clearly states that only one opportunity for repair is allowed.

Served by the lovely Branch Manager Eleri in Cardiff. Eleri and her colleague were so helpful & friendly. Even getting the product delivered in time for my daughters birthday. Highly recommend the product and the amazing serviced I received

Will never use again
Bought a ring (cost £375) in store, waited a week for the ring to be made to size and picked it up. Was not given a box for the ring for a start, when I got home I noticed the emerald looked to a floor in it and apon further inspection I noticed the band was not right and looked almost dented as if it had been worn. Not very happy at all.

Paid twice and still no ring
My wife ordered a ring on the website and had it delivered to the crystal peaks branch. When it arrived the ring was too small so the sales man said he would refund it. Instead he charged her card again. Luckily she has on line banking which alerted her to this. She returned to the store who said they would refund both amounts but it will take 3 working days to be refunded. As it is a bank holiday she now has to wait a week for their error. Paid double and still no ring. They need to train the staff to an acceptable standard of competence when making transactions.

Overpriced earings
Bought two pairs of gold earrings in good faith. They looked ok but was not allowed a close look when purchasing. On trying them on at home both pairs were found to be very thin gold and very fragile. One pair which were small hoops were impossible to wear and bent as I was trying. Emailed several times for a refund but was flatly refused. Very unhappy customer.
